Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thigh strips
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1 small red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 small green bell pepper sliced
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds or cashews
  • Oil for frying

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, mix chicken with soy sauce, egg, cornstarch, and flour.
  2. Marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Heat oil and fry chicken until golden and crispy.
  4. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. Heat oil in another pan and sauté garlic and ginger.
  6. Add bell peppers and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add chili garlic sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and chili flakes.
  8. Simmer sauce for 1-2 minutes.
  9. Add fried chicken and toss well to coat.
  10. Cook for 2-3 minutes until combined.
  11. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds or cashews.

Notes

Adjust spice level to taste. Fry chicken in batches for maximum crispiness. Serve hot for best flavor.
