In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter and marshmallows. Stir occasionally until both are fully melted and you’ve got a smooth mixture.

Once melted, remove it from the heat and immediately stir in the cotton candy-flavored extract. If you want to add food coloring, this is the time to do it!

Gradually add the rice cereal to the melted mixture. Stir until all the cereal pieces are evenly coated.

Prepare a baking tray by lining it with parchment paper. Using your hands, scoop the mixture and form small balls or bite-sized clusters.

Once you’ve shaped all your bites, sprinkle them with powdered sugar to avoid sticking. Allow them to cool for about 30 minutes to set.
