  • 1 tsp chili powder Adds gentle warmth; adjust to taste.
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika Gives a subtle smokiness.
  • 1 tsp onion powder Rounds out the savory profile.
  • 1 tsp oregano A hint of herbaceous warmth.
  • 120 ml soy sauce Salty backbone of the sauce.
  • 170 ml honey Makes the sauce sticky and irresistible.
  • 60 ml rice vinegar Brightens the sauce.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Aromatic punch.
  • 30 ml sriracha Delivers heat.
  • 10 ml sesame oil Adds nutty depth.
  • 1 tsp ground ginger Warm spice that complements other flavors.
  • 2 tsp arrowroot powder Mixed with water to thicken the sauce without cloudiness.
  • 30 ml water To mix with arrowroot powder.
  • 120 ml mayo Base for the spicy mayo drizzle.
  • 15 ml sriracha For added heat in the mayo.
  • 30 ml water To thin the mayo.
  • 300 g uncooked rice Jasmine or medium-grain rice recommended.
  • 2 pieces small heads broccoli, chopped Provides color and crunch.
  • to taste sesame seeds for topping Nutty crunch and pretty finish.

Method
 

  1. Cook the rice according to package instructions and set aside.
  2. Chop broccoli into small florets and set aside.
  3. Slice chicken breasts into strips and season with salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, and oregano.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet, add chicken, and cook until golden and fully cooked through.
  5. Steam or sauté broccoli in the same pan or separately until tender.
  6. Whisk together sticky sauce ingredients in a bowl, pour into the skillet with chicken, and simmer until thickened.
  7. Stir together spicy mayo using mayo, sriracha, and water until pourable.
  8. Assemble bowls with rice, chicken, broccoli, drizzle spicy mayo, and top with sesame seeds.
