Ingredients

  • 2 cups strawberries Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor and sweetness.
  • 1 cup blueberries Fresh blueberries are ideal for this recipe.
  • 1 cup whipped cream Ensure it's well-chilled; can be store-bought or homemade.
  • 0.5 cup sugar Adjust to taste based on the sweetness of your berries.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract will provide the best aromatic flavor.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Freshly squeezed lemon juice brightens the overall taste.

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix the sliced strawberries, blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice together.
  2. Let the berry mixture sit for 10 minutes to macerate, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the whipped cream and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
  4. Gently fold the vanilla-infused whipped cream into the macerated berry mixture, being careful not to deflate the cream.
  5. Serve immediately for a fresh taste, or chill for 30 minutes in the refrigerator for a firmer, colder dessert.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the amount of sugar to your liking, depending on the sweetness of your berries. This dessert is best served fresh on the day it's made.
