- In a stand mixer bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Mix and let proof for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, olive oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Knead on low speed until a smooth ball forms, about 4-5 minutes.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 30 minutes until doubled in size.
- Spray the slow cooker with non-stick spray and line with parchment paper.
- Shape the risen dough into a round ball and place it in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 hours.
- If desired, broil the bread for 3-4 minutes for a golden crust after cooking.
- Let the bread cool completely on a rack before slicing.
Notes
This bread pairs well with soups or can be used for sandwiches. Feel free to experiment with herbs or cheese for added flavor.
