Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 9 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons red powdered food coloring
  • Heart-shaped sprinkles optional

Method
 

  1. Add chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter to a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Microwave for 1 minute, stir, then microwave an additional 30 seconds until smooth.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Place Rice Chex cereal in a large bowl and pour chocolate mixture over the cereal.
  5. Gently toss until cereal is evenly coated.
  6. Add powdered sugar and red food coloring to the bowl.
  7. Toss until all cereal pieces are fully coated and bright red.
  8. Spread mixture on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Allow to cool for 15–20 minutes until set.
  10. Top with heart-shaped sprinkles if desired and serve.

Notes

Use red powdered or gel food coloring for the most vibrant red velvet color. Allow the mixture to cool completely before storing to prevent sticking.
