- Stir in lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and optional citric acid or food coloring.
- Add Chex cereal and gently fold until evenly coated.
- Transfer coated cereal and powdered sugar into a large bag and shake until fully coated.
- Spread onto parchment-lined baking sheets to cool and dry.
- Break apart clumps and serve.
Notes
Use fresh lemon juice and zest for best flavor. Allow puppy chow to fully cool before serving to achieve the perfect crunchy texture. Add extra powdered sugar if mixture feels sticky.
