Ingredients

  • 2 cup heavy cream Ensure it's very cold for optimal whipping.
  • 0.25 cup powdered sugar Sift if clumpy to ensure a smooth mixture.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Use pure vanilla extract for the best flavor.
  • 8 oz cream cheese Soften at room temperature for easier beating and a smooth consistency.
  • 0.5 cup Funfetti cake mix Adds a distinct cake batter flavor and festive color.
  • 0.25 cup milk Any type of milk (dairy or non-dairy) will work.
  • 1 package Oreo cookies The classic chocolate sandwich cookies are key to this recipe.
  • 0.25 cup sprinkles Colorful sprinkles add a fun, festive touch.

Equipment

  • Large Bowl
  • Another bowl
  • 9x13 inch dish
  • Electric mixer
  • Spatula
  • Plastic Wrap

Method

  1. In a large bowl, whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form (3-5 minutes).
  2. In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth; add Funfetti cake mix and milk until well combined.
  3. Gently fold whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture using a spatula.
  4. Spread a thin layer of the cream mixture in a 9×13 inch dish. Arrange a layer of Oreo cookies on top.
  5. Alternate layers of the cream mixture and Oreos until finished with a final layer of cream on top.
  6. Sprinkle generously with colorful sprinkles.
  7. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

For best results, allow the cake to chill overnight, as this gives the Oreos time to soften and fully absorb the flavors. This dessert is perfect for potlucks or parties, and leftovers (if any!) store well in the refrigerator for a few days.
