Ingredients

  • 3 oz Jell-O Choose your favorite flavor like orange, cherry, raspberry, lemon, or lime gelatin.
  • 1/2 cup Water Ensure the water is warm to help dissolve the gelatin.
  • 1 1/2 cups Marshmallows Mini marshmallows work best for melting smoothly.
  • 1/2 cup Sugar Use granulated or sanding sugar for coating the candies.
  • as needed ml Oil For lightly oiling the pan and knife blade to prevent sticking.
  • as needed g Sprinkles Optional, for coating the candies instead of sugar.

Equipment

  • Large microwave-safe bowl
  • Whisk
  • Square pan (9x9 inches)
  • Sharp Knife
  • Cookie tray
  • Foil paper
  • Bowl (for coating)
  • Lollipop stick (optional)

Method

  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, add JELL-O gelatin and warm water, then whisk everything together.
  2. Microwave for 1-2 minutes until gelatin is fully dissolved, stopping halfway to whisk everything together.
  3. Add marshmallows and microwave for 1-2 minutes or until they are slightly melted and 'poofy'.
  4. Whisk the mixture together until smooth with no lumps.
  5. Pour the mixture into a lightly oiled 9x9 inch square pan.
  6. Chill in the fridge for about 50 minutes until set.
  7. Optional: For a second layer, repeat steps 1-4 with the same amount of ingredients and pour on top of the first set layer. Chill for another 50 minutes.
  8. Once the marshmallow mixture has set, run a sharp knife around the edges of the pan.
  9. Flip the set mixture onto a cookie tray lined with oil-sprayed foil paper.
  10. Use a sharp knife, sprayed with oil to prevent sticking, to cut the mixture into cubes.
  11. Roll the cut cubes in a bowl of sugar or sprinkles until fully coated and arrange them on a serving dish.
  12. Optional: For rolls, cut 1-inch strips instead of cubes, roll them from one end to the other, and push a lollipop stick through to hold the shape. Sprinkle with sugar and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different JELL-O flavors and food colorings for vibrant candies. For an extra touch, consider dipping half the candy in melted chocolate or adding edible glitter.
