Ingredients

  • 24 cookies Chocolate Sandwich Cookies Crush two-thirds for the crust and reserve the rest for topping.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Ensure butter is softened for easy blending with cream cheese.
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Use softened cream cheese for a smooth, lump-free mixture.
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar Sift if necessary to avoid lumps in the creamy layer.
  • 8 oz Whipped Topping Gently fold into the cream cheese mixture to maintain its airy texture.
  • 1 package Instant Pudding Mix Choose your favorite flavor like chocolate, vanilla, or white chocolate.
  • 2 cups Milk Use cold milk to help the instant pudding set quickly and properly.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract A touch of vanilla enhances the overall sweetness and aroma.
  • 1 cup Chocolate Cookie Crumbs These are for sprinkling on top before serving, along with candies.
  • 1 cup Easter Candy Use a festive assortment like marshmallow bunnies, jelly beans, or edible grass.

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch pan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Start by crushing two-thirds of the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs and press into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter until smooth. Gradually mix in powdered sugar and fold in whipped topping.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix with cold milk and vanilla extract until it thickens.
  4. Gently fold the pudding into the cream cheese mixture and pour over the prepared cookie crust, spreading evenly.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let the layers set properly.
  6. Before serving, sprinkle reserved crushed chocolate cookies and colorful Easter candies on top.

Notes

Feel free to customize the Easter candies to your liking, or add a layer of gummy worms for a classic 'dirt' cake look.
