Ingredients

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Ensure it's softened to room temperature for a smooth, lump-free mixture.
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar Sift if necessary to prevent lumps in your truffle mixture.
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Orange Zest Use fresh zest for the most vibrant orange flavor and aroma; highly recommended.
  • 1/4 cup Orange Juice Freshly squeezed orange juice will give the best creamsicle taste.
  • 2 cups White Chocolate Chips These chips are specifically for melting and coating the truffles.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract Adds a classic sweet note that complements the orange flavor beautifully.
  • 2 cups More White Chocolate Chips These are for mixing into the truffle filling, or use orange candy melts for a colorful twist.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Double Boiler or Microwave
  • Parchment-lined tray
  • Small cookie scoop

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, blend softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, fresh orange zest, and orange juice. Beat until the mixture is smooth and creamy, ensuring no lumps remain.
  2. Use a double boiler or microwave to gently melt the white chocolate chips until silky and smooth. Let it cool slightly so it doesn’t cook the cream cheese.
  3. Gradually pour the melted white chocolate into the cream cheese mixture while stirring continuously. Add vanilla extract and mix well until combined, creating a luscious filling.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for 1-2 hours. This will help firm it up, making it easier to shape into truffles.
  5. Once chilled, use your hands or a small cookie scoop to form the mixture into bite-sized balls. Place them on a parchment-lined tray, spacing them apart.
  6. If desired, dip each truffle in melted white chocolate or orange candy melts to give them a shiny, sweet finish.
  7. Allow the coated truffles to set on parchment paper until they are firm and ready to be enjoyed.

Notes

For an extra pop of color, you can add a drop of orange food coloring to the melted white chocolate coating. Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
