Method
- Melt butter and brown sugar for caramel in saucepan.
- Add cream and whisk until thickened.
- Stir in sea salt and set aside.
- Whisk flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
- Beat butter and sugars until fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla and mix.
- Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients.
- Fold caramel into dough to create swirls.
- Scoop dough onto baking sheet.
- Bake at 175°C for 12–14 minutes.
- Sprinkle with flaky salt and cool before serving.
Notes
Do not overmix caramel into dough to keep visible swirls. Slightly underbake for soft centers.
