Ingredients

  • 2 whole Bananas Firm but ripe
  • 15 g Unsalted Butter Melted
  • 25 g Brown Sugar Light or dark
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 ml Vanilla Extract
  • 1 g Flaked Sea Salt For garnish
  • 15 g Toasted Pecans Finely crushed

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Method

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes. Peel the bananas and slice them lengthwise into halves. Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract until it forms a thick paste.
  3. Place banana halves flat-side up on the parchment paper. Use a pastry brush to generously coat the exposed flesh with the brown sugar mixture, pushing it to the edges.
  4. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 6 to 8 minutes until the surface is a deep golden-brown, the glaze is actively bubbling, and the edges are charred.
  5. Transfer the bananas to a plate, drizzle with the pooled amber caramel syrup, and immediately top with flaky sea salt and finely crushed toasted pecans.

Notes

Serve warm for the best experience; these bananas pair beautifully with vanilla ice cream.
