Cook Time 5 minutes
Servings: 1 serving
Course: Beverage, Weight Loss Drink
Cuisine: Herbal Tea

Ingredients

  • 1-2 tablespoons Fresh Lemon Balm Leaves or 1-2 teaspoons dried lemon balm
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Honey or Stevia optional, for sweetness
  • 1 cup Hot Water
  • Small piece of Ginger optional, grated
  • A few Mint Leaves optional, for flavor

Method

  1. Prepare the Lemon Balm: Wash the fresh lemon balm leaves thoroughly. If using dried leaves, measure 1-2 teaspoons. For convenience, you can also use a lemon balm tea bag.
  2. Boil the Water: Heat the water to a boil. If adding ginger, add it to the water and allow it to steep along with the lemon balm.
  3. Steep the Lemon Balm: Pour the boiling water over the lemon balm leaves (fresh or dried). Let it steep for 5 minutes for a rich flavor, or adjust steeping time for a milder taste.
  4. Add Lemon Juice and Sweetener: After steeping, strain the leaves (if fresh) and add lemon juice. Sweeten with honey or stevia according to your preference.
  5.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Optional: Add mint leaves for an added touch of flavor. Stir well and enjoy either hot or chilled.

Notes

  • For a caffeine-free evening drink, consider drinking it before bedtime for its relaxing properties.
  • If fresh lemon balm is not available, dried lemon balm works perfectly as a substitute.
  • The sweetness level can be adjusted by varying the amount of honey or stevia.

  • Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. For an extra twist, freeze the drink into ice cubes for future use.
