Homemade Rainbow Bouncy Balls

Ingredients
  

  • 125 ml warm water for mixing
  • 1 tbsp borax powder available in the laundry aisle or online
  • 2 tbsp white school glue such as Elmer’s or PVA craft glue
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 packet Food colouring or gel dye for rainbow colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple

Equipment

  • Small plastic cups or bowls
  • Wooden stirrers or plastic spoons
  • Gloves
  • Apron
  • Ziplock bags or small containers

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl or jug, combine ½ cup warm water and 1 tbsp borax powder. Stir until dissolved and set aside.
  2. Arrange 6 small plastic cups or bowls for each rainbow colour. Add a few drops of food colouring to each cup and stir gently until smooth.
  3. Add 1 tbsp of borax solution into the first colour mixture and stir immediately. Knead the mixture until smooth and bouncy.
  4. Repeat the process for each remaining colour, rolling them into individual bouncy balls or combining for swirled designs.

Notes

Be sure to wear gloves and an apron to keep things clean while crafting your bouncy balls. Enjoy experimenting with different color combinations!
