Ingredients
  

  • 450 g ground beef
  • 700 g medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 170 g shredded cheddar cheese
  • 50 g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 120 ml beef broth or water
  • 15 ml olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned (5-7 minutes); drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until onion is soft (3-4 minutes).
  4. Spread beef mixture in the baking dish. Layer sliced potatoes on top; season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the top. Pour broth around edges to keep potatoes moist.
  6. Cover with foil; bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving; garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
