Ingredients

  • 1 refrigerated pie crust or crescent dough
  • 1/2 –3/4 cup pizza or marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 oz large pepperoni slices or thin tomato slices halved
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning optional
  • Fresh basil for garnish
  • Cooking spray or butter for greasing

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) for pie crust or 375°F (190°C) for crescent dough.
  2. Grease a standard muffin tin with cooking spray or butter.
  3. Unroll dough and cut lengthwise into 1–1.5 inch wide strips.
  4. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over each strip.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over the sauce.
  6. Arrange pepperoni or tomato slices along the top edge of the dough.
  7. Fold the bottom edge of dough up and roll tightly to form a rose.
  8. Place each rose seam-side down into the muffin tin.
  9. Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.
  10. Cool slightly, garnish with basil, and serve warm.

Notes

Use a thin layer of sauce to prevent soggy roses. Let cool for 2–3 minutes before removing from the muffin tin for best shape.
