Ingredients
  

  • 6 medium apples
  • 12 oz dark or semi-sweet chocolate
  • 6 oz white chocolate
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or shortening
  • 1 cup crushed candy canes
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
  • Wooden sticks or skewers

Method
 

  1. Wash and completely dry apples, then insert wooden sticks firmly into the center.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Melt dark chocolate with coconut oil until smooth.
  4. Dip apples into melted chocolate, coating evenly.
  5. Allow excess chocolate to drip off and place apples on parchment.
  6. While chocolate is tacky, sprinkle or roll apples in crushed candy canes.
  7. Melt white chocolate and stir in peppermint extract.
  8. Drizzle white chocolate over apples decoratively.
  9. Let apples set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.
  10. Serve or store once fully set.

Notes

Make sure apples are completely dry before dipping to ensure smooth chocolate coating.
