Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • cup honey
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Fresh parsley or green onions chopped

Method

  1. Pat chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown, then remove from skillet.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the skillet.
  5. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Stir in honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
  7. Simmer sauce for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  8. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top.
  9. Cook for 5–7 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F internally.
  10. Mix cornstarch and water, then stir into the skillet.
  11. Cook 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
  12. Remove from heat, garnish with parsley or green onions, and serve.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcrowding the pan and always pat the chicken dry before searing. The sauce thickens more as it cools.
