Ingredients

  • 1 large orange trimmed at the top and base (do not peel)
  • 1 large carrot
  • Red and green grapes
  • 8 oz strawberries stems removed
  • Mandarin or orange segments peeled
  • 3 kiwis sliced
  • 6 oz blackberries
  • Apples thinly sliced
  • Melon cut into star shapes
  • Fresh parsley or rosemary optional
  • Powdered sugar for dusting optional

Method

  1. Make the Frame: Cut both ends off the orange for stability and set it on a serving plate. Insert a carrot upright into the orange. Insert toothpicks all around the orange and carrot at a slight upward angle.
  2. Assemble the Tree: Start adding larger fruits first—strawberries, kiwi slices, and apple wedges—around the base and middle. Fill gaps with grapes, blackberries, and orange segments to create a full, triangular tree shape.
  3. Add Finishing Touches: Place a whole strawberry at the top, then add your melon star as the topper. Tuck rosemary or parsley between fruits for a festive “pine” effect. Dust with powdered sugar for a snowy finish.

Notes

Use slightly underripe fruit for best structure. Assemble 2–4 hours before serving and keep refrigerated. Add berries last to keep them fresh.
