Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb beef flank steak, sirloin, or ribeye, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot julienned
  • 1/2 cup snap peas
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Method
 

  1. Thinly slice the beef against the grain.
  2. Marinate beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, half the garlic, and ginger for 15 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, whisk remaining soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, honey, remaining garlic, and ginger.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  5. Add beef in a single layer and sear for 2–3 minutes per side, then remove from pan.
  6. Add remaining oil to the pan.
  7. Stir-fry bell pepper, broccoli, and carrot for 3–5 minutes until crisp-tender.
  8. Add snap peas and cook for 2 minutes.
  9. Return beef to the pan.
  10. Pour in the sauce and stir to coat everything evenly.
  11. Cook for 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens.
  12. Remove from heat and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Slice beef thinly against the grain for best tenderness. Cook over high heat and avoid overcrowding the pan for a perfect stir fry.
