  • 8 ounces whipped topping thawed for easy and gentle folding
  • 1/3 cup milk use your preferred type of milk
  • 15.25 ounces white cake mix ensure it's heat-treated and completely cooled for safety
  • 1/4 cup sprinkles reserve some for garnishing the top of the dip

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Heat-treat the cake mix: To ensure it's safe to eat, microwave the cake mix in 30-second intervals until it reaches 160°F (71°C), or bake it at 350°F (180°C) for 5 minutes. Let it cool completely.
  2. Make the base: In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, cooled cake mix, and milk. Mix until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Fold in whipped topping: Gently fold the whipped topping into the mixture with a spatula. Be careful not to overmix to maintain a light and fluffy texture.
  4. Add the sprinkles: Fold in the sprinkles gently to avoid the colors bleeding into the dip. Reserve a few for the top.
  5. Chill and serve: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl, sprinkle with the reserved sprinkles, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Always heat-treat cake mix to make it safe for no-bake recipes. Bring cream cheese and whipped topping to room temperature before mixing for the smoothest texture. Avoid overmixing to keep the dip airy and fluffy. Customize with holiday-themed or favorite sprinkle colors. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container. Stir before serving again.
