Fried Pickles

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g sliced pickles cut into 3/4 inch thick slices
  • 190 g all purpose flour divided use
  • 300 ml beer
  • 1.5 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.75 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp onion powder
  • 500 ml oil for frying
  • 15 g fresh parsley chopped

Method
 

  1. Heat 3 inches of oil in a deep pot to 375 degrees F.
  2. Coat the pickles in 1/2 cup flour, shaking off any excess.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together the remaining cup of flour, beer, salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.
  4. Coat each pickle slice in batter, letting the excess batter drip back into the bowl.
  5. Fry 8-10 pickle slices at a time until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
  6. Repeat the process with the remaining pickles.
  7. Sprinkle with parsley, then serve immediately.

Notes

These fried pickles are best served hot and can be paired with your favorite dipping sauce.
