Ingredients
  

  • 1 box 15.25 oz chocolate cake mix
  • Ingredients required for cake mix eggs, oil, water
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • cups chopped fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 pan.
  2. Prepare chocolate cake mix according to package directions.
  3. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth, then fold in strawberries.
  4. Pour half of the chocolate batter into the pan.
  5. Dollop strawberry cheesecake mixture evenly over batter.
  6. Pour remaining chocolate batter over top without fully smoothing.
  7. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts evenly on top.
  8. Bake for 40–45 minutes until center is just set and top is crackly.
  9. Cool for 15–20 minutes before serving.

Notes

Do not overmix layers to achieve the signature earthquake effect. Use fresh strawberries for best texture and flavor. Serve warm for the ultimate gooey experience.
