  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 8 oz mushrooms sliced
  • 2 lbs potatoes peeled and chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings; mix gently.
  2. Shape into 1.5-inch meatballs and bake at 400°F for 20 minutes.
  3. Boil potatoes until tender; mash with garlic, butter, milk, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  4. Sauté mushrooms in butter; add flour and cook 1 minute.
  5. Whisk in broth, soy sauce, and Dijon; simmer until thickened.
  6. Add meatballs to gravy and simmer 2–3 minutes.
  7. Serve meatballs and gravy over mashed potatoes.
