Ingredients

  • 1 lb bread dough store-bought or homemade
  • ¼ lb sliced pepperoni
  • 8 oz sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese optional
  • Marinara sauce for dipping

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the bread dough into a 12×10-inch rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Layer pepperoni slices evenly across the dough, then top with mozzarella slices.
  4. Roll tightly from the long edge into a log and place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  5. Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake 30–35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped underneath.
  7. Cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
  8. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

For less grease, blot pepperoni with paper towels before layering. Resting after baking prevents cheese from oozing out when slicing. Add roasted vegetables or herbs for extra flavor variation.
