Method
- In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil until a sticky dough forms.
- Add green gel food coloring and mix until evenly colored.
- Cover the dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place granulated sugar in one bowl and powdered sugar in another.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls.
- Roll each ball in granulated sugar, then coat in powdered sugar.
- Place cookies 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 9–12 minutes until tops are crackled and edges are set.
- Cool on the baking sheet briefly, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
Chilling the dough is key to prevent spreading. Do not overbake—cookies will continue to set as they cool.
