Method
- Slice onions into ¼-inch thick rings and separate.
- Whisk egg into buttermilk and soak onion rings.
- Let soak for at least 10–30 minutes.
- Mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and onion powder.
- Remove onions from buttermilk and dredge in seasoned flour.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F.
- Spray basket with cooking spray.
- Arrange onions in a single layer and spray tops.
- Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the air fryer for best crispiness. Double coating creates extra crunch. Use cooking spray generously for golden color.
