Ingredients

  • cups all-purpose flour 210g
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup 1 stick unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup granulated sugar 200g
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk 240ml
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup red and green sprinkles jimmies style
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sugar optional
  • Additional sprinkles for garnish optional

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and buttermilk until creamy.
  4. Gently fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients just until no dry streaks remain.
  5. Fold in red and green sprinkles with 3–4 gentle strokes to avoid color bleeding.
  6. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan, smooth top, and sprinkle with coarse sugar or extra sprinkles.
  7. Bake 45–55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Cool in pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Use jimmies-style sprinkles to prevent color bleeding. Toss sprinkles lightly in flour before folding for even distribution. Let the loaf cool before slicing to maintain its soft, tender crumb.
