- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs, vanilla, and mashed bananas, mixing until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Fold dry ingredients into wet until just combined. Add nuts if desired.
- Spread batter evenly in the pan. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool for 15 minutes before adding glaze.
- For the glaze, melt butter in a small saucepan, remove from heat, then whisk in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over cooled brownies.
- Cut into squares and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For gluten-free banana bread brownies, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend. Replace eggs with flax eggs for a vegan version. Add chocolate chips for extra indulgence or use coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
