Method
- In a large pot, boil salted water and cook the pasta according to package instructions until just al dente. Reserve about a cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned and cooked through.
- Once the beef is cooked, lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing it gently in the creamy sauce. If the sauce seems too thick, gradually mix in a bit of the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning once more, then serve hot with extra cheese sprinkled on top if desired.
Notes
For a lighter version, use ground turkey instead of beef. Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor and nutrition.
