Ingredients
  

  • 595 g cherry pie filling
  • 227 g cream cheese softened
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 5 ml vanilla extract
  • 432 g yellow cake mix
  • 113 g unsalted butter melted
  • 70 g chopped pecans optional
  • 5 tsp ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  3. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the cherry filling, spreading it gently to cover as much as possible.
  5. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, ensuring it covers as much of the mix as possible.
  7. If using, sprinkle the chopped pecans and ground cinnamon on top for added flavor and crunch.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cake is set.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

This cake is best served warm or at room temperature. You can substitute the cherry pie filling with any other fruit filling of your choice for a different flavor.
