Ingredients

  • 40 g Powdered Sugar Granulated sugar can be used but may alter texture.
  • 5 ml Vanilla Extract Use pure vanilla for the best flavor.
  • 227 g Unsalted Butter Can use margarine but it may affect flavor.
  • 150 g Brown Sugar Can replace half with granulated sugar for less moisture.
  • 100 g Granulated Sugar Coconut sugar can be used for a unique twist.
  • 1 large Eggs Flax eggs can work for a vegan option.
  • 240 g All-Purpose Flour Gluten-free flour can serve as a substitute.
  • 5 tsp Baking Soda Baking powder can be used in a pinch.
  • 2.5 tsp Salt Can omit if salted butter is used.
  • 170 g Chocolate Chips Consider using white or dark chocolate chips.

Method

  1. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Scoop into small balls and freeze for 20-30 minutes to firm up.
  2. Beat unsalted butter with brown and granulated sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla extract. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt; fold into wet ingredients. Mix in chocolate chips.
  3. Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Flatten a portion of chilled dough, place a cheesecake ball in the center, wrap dough around and seal to form a ball.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake cookies for 13-15 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  6. Allow cookies to cool slightly on baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack for complete cooling.
