  • 300 g Rice Chex cereal Can substitute with Corn Chex
  • 170 g semi-sweet chocolate chips Mix with milk chocolate for extra sweetness
  • 250 g creamy peanut butter Almond butter can be used for a nutty flavor
  • 60 g butter Use unsalted for better control of flavor
  • 5 tsp vanilla extract Essential for depth of flavor
  • 120 g powdered sugar Essential for a classic Puppy Chow finish
  • 2 bars Butterfinger candy bars (crushed) Feel free to substitute with other favorite candy bars

Method
 

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, mix chocolate chips, creamy peanut butter, and butter.
  2. Microwave the mixture in 30-second bursts, stirring after each interval, until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract for added flavor.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, add the Rice Chex cereal, then pour the melted mixture over the top. Gently stir to coat.
  5. Sprinkle the crushed Butterfinger into the mixture and toss until evenly combined.
  6. Transfer to a zip-top bag, add powdered sugar, and shake until well coated.
  7. Spread on a baking sheet to cool completely before serving.
