Ingredients
  

  • 7 cups Chex cereal divided into two portions
  • 1 cup powdered sugar divided
  • 1 cup pink candy melts
  • 1 cup red candy melts
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Valentine's Day M&Ms
  • 2-4 tablespoons Valentine's Day sprinkles optional

Method
 

  1. Divide 7 cups of Chex cereal into two bowls (3.5 cups each). Line baking sheets with wax paper.
  2. Melt 1 cup pink candy melts with 1 teaspoon oil in 30-second microwave intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
  3. Pour the melted pink coating over one bowl of cereal and gently fold to coat evenly.
  4. Transfer pink-coated cereal into a ziplock bag, add 1/2 cup powdered sugar, seal, and shake for 20-30 seconds until coated. Spread on the baking sheet to set.
  5. Repeat the process with red candy melts, oil, remaining cereal, and powdered sugar.
  6. Let both batches set for 30 minutes to prevent sticking.
  7. Combine both colors in a large bowl, then gently fold in M&Ms and sprinkles.
  8. Serve immediately or package as gifts!

Notes

Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 5 days, or refrigerate for 2 weeks. Freeze for up to 3 months for longer storage. Add nuts or pretzels for extra crunch if desired.
