Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (or thighs for juicier results)
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • Caramelized onions optional
  • 4 tbsp butter divided
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • Salt and cracked black pepper to taste
  • Shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese optional
  • Olive oil for searing

Method

  1. Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Let rest for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear chicken 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (165°F).
  3. Remove chicken and melt 2 tbsp butter in the same skillet. Add minced garlic and cook 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and honey. Stir and scrape browned bits from the skillet. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
  5. Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over, and simmer until sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Add remaining butter, stir, and spoon sauce over chicken until coated. Sprinkle cheese if using and melt briefly.
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.

Notes

Use chicken thighs for extra juiciness. Don’t brown garlic too long to prevent bitterness. Scraping the browned bits adds deep flavor to the sauce.
