- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, alternating with milk.
- Stir in green food coloring until the desired color is reached.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool before topping with whipped cream.
Notes
Use gel food coloring for a vibrant green color without thinning the batter.
