Method
- Pat the shrimp dry and season with salt, pepper, and optional cornstarch.
- In a small bowl, whisk honey, soy sauce, garlic, rice vinegar, ginger, and red pepper flakes to make the sauce.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat, pour in the sauce, and simmer 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove and set aside.
- Wipe the skillet clean, add oil or butter, and sear shrimp 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Return sauce to skillet with shrimp, add 1 tablespoon butter, and toss 1-2 minutes until glazed.
- Serve immediately over rice, noodles, or vegetables; garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the skillet to ensure crisp edges; pat shrimp dry for best sear.
