Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a donut pan or baking sheet.
- Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix until just combined.
- Pipe or spoon batter into donut molds or pipe into strips and twist on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden and springy.
- While warm, brush donuts with melted butter.
- Roll generously in cinnamon sugar coating and serve.
Notes
Do not overmix the batter to keep donuts soft and fluffy. Coat donuts while still warm for the best cinnamon sugar adhesion and crackly finish.
