Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth and glossy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gently fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients just until combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips, reserving a few for topping if desired.
- In a small bowl, mix hot fudge topping with heavy cream until smooth.
- Pour half the batter into the pan, drizzle with half the fudge mixture, and swirl gently.
- Add remaining batter, top with remaining fudge, and swirl again.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread moist and tender. Allow melted butter to cool slightly before adding eggs. For best texture, let the loaf cool completely before slicing.
