Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs room temperature
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened (optional)
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar optional
  • 1 large egg optional
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract optional
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries optional
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, cocoa powder, and salt together in a bowl.
  3. Mix oil, sugar, and vanilla in a separate bowl until combined.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Spread brownie batter evenly into prepared pan.
  7. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla if using cheesecake layer.
  8. Spread cheesecake mixture over brownie batter.
  9. Simmer raspberries with sugar, strain, and swirl sauce on top if using.
  10. Bake for 30–35 minutes until edges are set.
  11. Cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  12. Cut brownies using a heart-shaped cookie cutter and serve.

Notes

Chilling fully before cutting is essential for clean heart shapes. Wipe the cookie cutter between cuts for sharp edges.
