Ingredients
Method
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Wash the apples thoroughly, remove any wax, and dry completely.
- Insert wooden sticks firmly into the tops of the apples.
- In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, water, corn syrup, and vanilla extract.
- Cook over medium heat without stirring until the mixture reaches 300°F on a candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat and gently stir in the food coloring.
- Dip each apple into the candy mixture, rotating to coat evenly and allowing excess to drip off.
- Immediately add sprinkles or edible glitter while the coating is still wet.
- Place apples on parchment paper and allow to cool completely until hardened.
Notes
Do not stir the sugar mixture while cooking, and make sure apples are completely dry to ensure a smooth, glass-like candy coating.
