Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Mini chocolate chips or crushed graham crackers for topping

Method
 

  1. Wash strawberries thoroughly and pat completely dry.
  2. Slice strawberries lengthwise and trim the back slightly so they sit flat.
  3. Scoop a small cavity from the center of each strawberry half.
  4. In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest until smooth and creamy.
  5. Transfer filling to a piping bag or spoon into strawberry cavities.
  6. Top with mini chocolate chips, graham cracker crumbs, or desired toppings.
  7. Chill for 15 minutes before serving if desired.

Notes

Dry strawberries thoroughly before filling to prevent slipping. For best texture and flavor, serve within 6 hours of preparation.
