Method
- Wash and thinly slice the oranges, removing any seeds.
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan and heat until the sugar fully dissolves.
- Stir in the lemon juice and bring the syrup to a gentle simmer.
- Add orange slices in a single layer and simmer for 10–15 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Remove slices with a slotted spoon and place on a parchment-lined rack.
- Allow to air-dry for 4–6 hours or overnight until glossy and set.
Notes
Slice oranges evenly and allow full drying time to prevent sticky candy, especially in humid environments.
