Ingredients

  • 2 oz Premium Tequila Patrón Silver recommended
  • 0.5 oz Orange Liqueur Cointreau
  • 2.5 oz Pomegranate Juice
  • 2 oz Fresh Orange Juice or tangerine juice
  • 1 tbsp Honey or agave nectar
  • ¼ tsp Vanilla Extract
  • tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • tsp Ground Ginger
  • Pinch Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 sprig Fresh Rosemary
  • Ginger Beer optional, for effervescence
  • Cinnamon sugar rim mixture

Method

  1. Mix 1 tbsp coarse sugar, 1 tbsp granulated sugar, ½ tsp cinnamon, and a pinch of cayenne to make the rim mixture.
  2. Run an orange or tangerine slice around your glass rim and dip into the cinnamon-sugar mix.
  3. Fill the rimmed rocks glass with fresh ice.
  4. In a cocktail shaker, combine pomegranate juice, orange juice, tequila, orange liqueur, honey, and vanilla extract.
  5. Add ground cinnamon, ginger, and cayenne pepper to the shaker.
  6. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 15 seconds to blend and chill.
  7. Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  8. Top with a splash of ginger beer if desired and garnish with a rosemary sprig and cinnamon stick.

Notes

Start with moderate spice amounts and adjust to taste. Always use fresh ice for serving to prevent over-dilution. For a non-alcoholic version, replace tequila with ginger beer and lime juice, increasing spices slightly.
