  • 1 cup 170g semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup 100g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup 120g all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup 60g chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk melted butter with granulated and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add vanilla and eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts or M&Ms if using.
  7. Scoop dough onto baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart. Roll in powdered sugar for a crinkle top if desired.

  9. Cool 5 minutes on the sheet, then transfer to a wire rack.
  10. Drizzle with melted chocolate and top with festive sprinkles once cooled.

Notes

For extra fudgy cookies, avoid overbaking and allow cookies to finish setting on the baking sheet.
