Ingredients
  

  • 2 lb ground beef 80/20 blend
  • cups saltine crackers crumbled
  • 2 cups whole milk divided
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Dash cayenne pepper optional
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour for dredging
  • 1 can 10.5 oz condensed cream of mushroom soup

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, gently mix ground beef, crackers, 1 cup milk, herbs, spices, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form mixture into 6–8 evenly sized patties.
  4. Dredge patties lightly in flour and brown in a skillet for 2–3 minutes per side.
  5. Arrange browned patties in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Whisk cream of mushroom soup with remaining 1 cup milk until smooth.
  7. Pour gravy evenly over patties.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes until bubbly.
  10. Rest 5 minutes before serving.
