  • 2 large Eggs Provides structure and helps bind everything together.
  • 5 ml Vanilla Extract Adds depth to the overall flavor profile.
  • 125 g All-Purpose Flour Forms the base structure for the brownies.
  • 5 tsp Baking Soda Acts as a leavening agent.
  • 2.5 tsp Salt Balances flavors and brings out sweetness.
  • 50 g Cocoa Powder Infuses chocolate richness.
  • 60 ml Milk Incorporates moisture; substitute with almond milk for a lactose-free option.
  • 175 g Chocolate Chips Optional: add dark or white chocolate.
  • 100 g Brown Sugar Introduces a delightful caramel-like flavor.
  • 5 tsp Ground Cinnamon Enhances the banana flavor.
  • 28 g Butter Adds richness when melted on top before baking.

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking pan

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Mix in the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Gently fold in the milk and chocolate chips (if using) until evenly distributed.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle over the batter and dot with small pieces of butter.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

These brownies are best served warm with a scoop of ice cream on top. Feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate chips or nuts for added texture.
