Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter Ensure it's creamy, not crunchy, for best texture.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar White granulated sugar is ideal for classic sweetness and texture.
  • 1 large egg Use a large egg to bind the ingredients effectively.

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Large Bowl
  • Fork
  • Cooling Rack

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter, sugar, and egg. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Scoop about one tablespoon of dough and roll it into balls, placing them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Flatten each ball gently with a fork to form a criss-cross pattern.
  5. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool for three minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Notes

These cookies are naturally gluten-free if you use certified gluten-free peanut butter. For a richer flavor, you can use dark brown sugar instead of granulated sugar.
