Method
- Add water to a bowl and heat it to about 110 degrees F. That’s basically just warm water - not hot and not cold.
- Add yeast and whisk together. Set the bowl aside.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and salt.
- Pour the water-yeast mixture into the flour mix, and stir until a dough forms. You may need to add another tablespoon or so of water to achieve a thick dough.
- Sprinkle some flour on a countertop, and divide the dough into 8 pieces.
- Roll each piece of dough into ropes and slice them into 1-inch pieces.
- Lightly spray the basket of the air fryer with oil of choice.
- Place pretzel bites into the basket, giving them enough room to expand. Brush them with melted butter.
- Cook for 7 minutes at 400 degrees F, or until lightly browned on top.
- Remove from air fryer, and once slightly cooled, transfer them to a plate.
- Brush them once more with remaining butter and sprinkle pretzel salt on top.
- Enjoy!
Notes
Serve warm for the best texture and flavor. These pretzel bites can also be dipped in mustard or cheese sauce!
